In my library, I will sometimes have multiple versions of the same album. A lot of these are remasters. Others are remasters by Mobile Fidelity Sound Labs or Audio Fidelity that are a different remaster AND have a different cover.
My library does not reflect this. It shows both albums with the same cover art and the same year. I’d like these albums to show up with the information that is in my tags, and not what Plex is scraping from Gracenote. Is there any way to make this work the way I want?
two settings:
- In the properties of your library, tick ‘use embedded metatags’
- In Settings - Server - Agents - Albums - Plex Premium Music grab the line ‘Local Media Assets’ and pull it to the top position
This change only affects albums which are put into Plex “as new”.
If you want it to apply to old albums you need to Plex Dance those albums.
(with Music, you can omit step 4 of the Dance)

I had to delete my music library and recreate it. Rescanning now.
