Having the same TV episode in two quality versions doesn't merge

Hi! I have some date-based TV episodes.

They are named as Sports/Sport_name/Season 2022/Sport_name - YYYY-MM-DD - Episode_name [1080p].mkv

But when I try to add a new version of that same episode it detects it as another different episode, and I am unable to merge them.

Sports/Sport_name/Season 2022/Sport_name - YYYY-MM-DD - Episode_name [1080p].mkv

Sports/Sport_name/Season 2022/Sport_name - YYYY-MM-DD - Episode_name [2160p].mkv

Those two will appear as separate episodes. And I want them together.

Also, local media assets named Season2022.ext get picked as season 20 instead of 2022.

Any help? Thank you!

Rescan the old episode using the new Plex Scanner. Then they should merge. I suspect that the old one was scanned using the legacy scanner. The different scanners use different ids so Plex will not see them as the same episodes.

I was using the new scanner already, but I switched to the old one just in case and they still show up as two different episodes on the same date.
