Is it possible to add an HBO app to PHT? It would be really nice to have that.
Currently all the plugins for video channels are community written save for the Netflix app, iTunes, and maybe a few others I’m not aware of.
If you’re familiar with coding, take a crack at it or see if you can find someone else who might be able to.
Wish I could code, if I could I would. Would anyone in the community be interested in coding an app?

I’d suggest creating a topic on it in the the Add-On / Channels forums for this idea. I’m sure you’d get a lot of support for it, but finding a dev to do it might be difficult.
The other main problem I could think of with HBO would be the DRM that I’m sure all their stuff is strangled with.
I suppose you’re right. I’m sure I’m not the first person to ask if there could be an HBO app.
