Hey guys, been dealing with this issue for a while now. Ever since streaming HD Audio formats (Dolby Digital+/DTS HD-MA), I’ve been getting sound cut-outs all throughout a movie, probably 10-20 times. The cut-outs are just for a split second and then it recovers, but it’s very annoying. Logs are attached, and I hope they can provide the cause.

Windows 10 on both my server and the Intel NUC device I’m using as my network HTPC with Plex Media Player, and I’m pretty sure the file formats are streaming via direct play. The passthrough audio is being decoded with a Yamaha RX-V379 receiver. Please let me know if there is anything else I can provide to troubleshoot or resolve this issue…thanks!

Hey, I think we may have the same problem. I’ve been discussing in another thread here. Read through and see if it sounds like your same problem.

Yep, sounds like the same issue. I tested with Emby, which I actually feel is superior to Plex, and I had the issue there as well so I assumed my receiver was going bad (it’s apparently an issue with yamaha receivers). The pass through audio quality seems more dynamic in Emby. I didn’t think about testing local files with VLC or MPC so I’ll do that and follow up.
