Audio dropouts during movies

Hi,

I am getting audio dropouts at random times when playing movies. I watched a bit of the movie with my receiver on screen info display on and it appears like the audio signal is actually cutting out for a second at random intervals. The last movie I was watching when the issue happened had a TrueHD audio track. (I’m not sure yet if it happens with other audio codecs like DTS-HD MA)

After scouring the forums I thought I would try changing from bitstreaming TrueHD to having Plex decode and send PCM. Initial results seem to indicate that the issue doesn’t happen when Plex decodes and sends PCM.

I looked in the logs of both PMS and PMP but saw nothing.

Doesn’t anyone know why this issue occurs when bitsreaming TrueHD and how to fix it?

These dropouts also happen with DTS-HD MA though not as frequently as with TrueHD. Regular DTS and DD seem to work fine.

Seems there is another issue: Plex is not decoding DTS-HD MA 7.1 properly. When I have passthrough turned off Plex only sends 5.1 PCM not 7.1.

So just leaving passthrough disabled doesn’t seem like a viable option now.

Can anyone out there help?
