HD channels stopped playing in browsers

Problem occurred: 2022-08-30 until now
Non-HD channels playing in browsers: Yes, without a problem
Other players working with HD channels: Yes, all other platforms continue to work, namely two webOS players (LG 43UP75003LF and LG OLED65A13LA) and an Android player (Galaxy Tab S8+).
Notable records in the browser console: “[MDE] Direct play failed; option is disabled” (although DirectPlay is enabled in the server settings)

I can provide full browser console logs and server logs upon request from Plex employees.

After unsuccessful troubleshooting, the problem was “solved” by selecting Settings → Debug → Restore defaults.

However, the root cause couldn’t be found out using logs, even verbose logs.
