Hello. I’m running Plex media server on Ubuntu with Intel quad core I5 and a 5400 RPM hard drive. I generally use Roku as the client. Performance is generally fine for my purposes, except for the time it takes to begin a stream. This is most frustrating if i’m fast forwarding through a DVR’d show. Each time I press play, it loads for 30-45 seconds. So, the question i have is would a small SSD (64-128 Gb) used for a transcoder temp directory help this situation?
