I have 2 HDHomerun Prime with cable card. It scanned with no problem but when I try to watch an HD channel, it selects the SD version of the channel. I can see this from checking the video quality in Plex Media Player and from looking at the tuner status on the HDHomerun status page. I had to go back into the channel selection for each of the 2 HDHR and deselect all the SD channels. The channel assignments do list differently in the scanned channels list, designating correctly SD versus HD but it still combined the sources (or parts).
Are there any hidden settings that would separate these without turning off the SD channels? Or is this a bug that needs addressing in the server?
I’m having the same exact problem. I’m not sure what the fix is either must be a bug. I also noticed in the new grid style program guide that when I filter to “HD Channels Only” it still shows both SD & HD channels.
I’m not aware of any hidden settings in Plex, but you can go into the HDHomeRun interface and disable channels right at the source, so they’re not scanned by third-party software like Plex.
If you go into the HDHomeRun device’s web interface, and go to the channel list, you can click the icon next to the channel once to make it a favorite. If you click it a second time, it turns into a red “x” and disables it from being seen by other software.
The way it works at the moment is that we filter on what is showing in the period - so channels streaming at 720 would get included even if SD channels and channels only streaming 480 in the period covered would be excluded if only streaming 480
It is being discussed with development as to whether it should be changed but some countries do not have the HD/SD channel identification and also it would result in loss of visibility of some HD content
