I have a HD Homerun Quatro w/Antenna getting excellent signal strength and it’s tied into Plex of course. Plex appears to only detect one channel as HD even though there are 17 listed in HD Homerun. When I tune the channel it’s HD. So when you select “HD Channels Only” in the Plex guide only get the one channel. Anyone know how to manually set the other HD channels or get Plex to detect properly? I tried already in Plex scanning channels and refreshing the guide.
When you added the turner you had the option to only add certain channels, you can go back and only select the HD ones so that SD duplicates are not presented.
Plex relies on the TVDB data, if the station doesn’t have HD in the name then when you filter on HD it isn’t displayed.
This isn’t correct based on what a Plex moderator has posted.
Plex looks at the content of the guide (nothing to do with thetvdb.com site) and if the program is in HD, or if the upcoming program is listed as being in HD, then the channel will show up when “HD Channels” is selected.
This is, of course, a ludicrous approach (at least for US viewers) but that’s apparently how it works and why the first time you will get one set of “HD channels” and then later on, you will get a different set of “HD Channels”. It’s not filtering by channels at all but by programming.
Thanks that explains it. Would make more sense if Plex could get the HD channel info from HD Homerun as it does show it there.
