HDR remains enabled on Windows 10 if Plex HTPC is closed Any Other Way then from within it's shutdown menu

Server Version#: 1.26.2.5797
Player Version#: 10.0.19044

For the second time in a row now HDR has been enabled on Windows 10 when I boot my PC in the morrning (After watching/Using Plex HTPC)

So every night I have a task scheduler that shutdown my PC. Any app that need’s to be closed “Gracefully” like Mozilla/Chrome/Plex is done so.

Still it seems that if Plex has enabled HDR and is then exited NOT using the shutdown menu. It fails to toggle HDR mode. there go HDR is enabled after reboot …

Are you leaving Plex HTPC playing something or in the post-play screen? It should be toggling back to SDR when the post-play screen is exited.

It can be either. I wouldn’t know because I’m sleeping.

Plex HTPC should also turn off HDR when exiting IMHO.

Or at the very least. Stop playback when it receives instructions to shutdown. If that is already happening. The time Plex requests to do what it does before it exits needs to be extended.
Because as I said Plex is closed “gracefully” meningen, Windows will wait for the app to finish it’s thing before closing.

One could very easily make the argument that Windows should be doing this. It changes the refresh rate/resolution back when the application that changed it exits but doesn’t do the same for HDR switching via public Windows APIs. Seems quite inconsistent does in not?

You’re not wrong. But either you or me works for Microsoft.

I can’t fix it…

which leaves You/Plex devs to sort it out…

After all, It’s your products we’re buying! Not Microsoft’s…
