'HDR Tone Mapping' 'on' - HDR media playback fails on Windows PC. PMS running on 2019 Shield TV Pro

As the subject indicates, when trying to play HDR media on the Plex web app on a Windows PC (rarely my use case luckily) with ‘HDR Tone Mapping’ enabled, the video does not play.

Playback device is a Windows 11 PC - i7-13700KF CPU, 32GB RAM, 3070Ti GPU. 1080P Dell 24" U2415 monitor (actually dual monitors).
Plex Media Server is running on 2019 Shield TV Pro.

As soon as I turn ‘HDR Tone Mapping’ off, the same clip plays fine on the same Windows PC…

Is this a known issue?

Luckily I usually use Roku Ultra, Android TV, Google TV or tablets to play Plex media and not Windows web app, but…

HDR to SDR Tone Mapping

Tonemapping on the Shield uses the CPU, which is probably not strong enough to perform the task in real time, so playback fails.

Instead of Plex Web, use Plex Desktop for Windows. It tonemaps HDR media, so the server does not need to do so.

Thanks on both counts (especially about tone mapping using the CPU). Will use the desktop app when I watch Plex on Windows.
