The HDR to SDR Tone Mapping option on windows seems to be invalid

Server Version#: 1.41.7.9823
Player Version#: 4.147.0 web

I’m having issues with a feature related to HDR videos. When I turn the HDR off, the colors aren’t as dark as they should be. When I turn it back on, I get constant buffering on Google TV with the latest Plex beta. I can adjust the HDR to SDR tone mapping more when it’s on, but I’m confused because changing the tone mapping doesn’t seem to affect Plex on Chrome Web. It doesn’t buffer like Google TV does. I’m not sure what’s going on. By the way, my processor is an 11th Gen Jasper Lake.

Chrome on Windows is happily playing HDR video on a HDR screen. Thus tone mapping is not performed on the server.

But my screen does not support HDR

Have you looked at the server dashboard during playback? This is the first thing you should always do, to see what is actually going on.

This picture is the effect of viewing hdr video in chrome, my computer screen doesn’t support hdr, and I didn’t enable HDR to SDR Tone Mapping in the settings, as you can see the darker colors like that in the preview picture don’t show up.

This is the server dashboard when chrome plays the video.

Turning on HDR to SDR Tone Mapping on TiVo just keeps buffering and the picture looks the same as if chrome didn’t have this feature turned on.

The cpu usage has been around 50%
