Headless Plexamp on Raspberry PI - cannot access web UI

I installed it using odinb github instructions:

I also made sure the username is correct in plexamp.service according to this since I already had a different username set up on my RPI

https://howtohifi.com/how-to-start-plexamp-automatically-when-you-power-on-your-raspberry-pi/

systemctl --user status plexamp.service shows the plexamp.service is running

However I still cannot access the web UI via hostname:3500 or ip-address:3500. Just a standard “cannot connect to server” message in any of my browsers. Hostname and ip-address are correct and I am on the correct network. I can access my pi-hole service running on the same rasperry pi just fine using the ip address.

Any ideas?

Perhaps it’s just a typo, but that port number should be 32500.

Oops! Yeah I meant 32500

I’m sorry, I won’t be supporting Plexamp headless going forward, consider Caldera headless the replacement.

This is kind of major news because how would third party support work for Plexamp headless?

Personally I’m using RoPieee since it already bundles other streaming services including Plexamp into one headless service that is a lot more easier for me to install. But if Plexamp headless support has ended does it mean that devs in the future have to implement Caldara headless instead?

Also why not just add the new changes from Caldara headless onto Plexamp headless? Is there technical limitation or a legal reason now that your not longer at Plex? Cause if I didn’t see your comment here I wouldn’t have even know that Plexamp headless is no longer being supported and a lot of people wouldn’t either.

They’d have to switch to Caldera.

Because it’s a brand new tech stack which is more performant and easier to maintain for me.

Just to clarify, are there other things Caldara music is possibly replacing currently or in the future?

Cause I don’t think I’m the only one that is questioning Caldara’s sudden existence. Originally I thought this would be a small side project we are getting from you while we wait for Plexamp v5 long awaited release.

But now seeing a lot of features we were expecting to see in v5 are in Caldara, It makes me wonder if this is supposed to be a long term project. Will Caldara inevitably replace Plexamp or will it act as an extension to Plexamp’s feature set? For example you said Plexamp headless is being replaced by Caldara cause it’s a new tech stack. So will Caldara be used to add features to Plexamp that can’t be added directly due to technical limitations?

So I want to know what you have planned for Caldara’s future and how will this effect Plexamp’s future development going forward. What can we expect?

Plexamp for mobile is coming. And for desktop.

Caldera for now is what it is. It’s a long term project.

Looking forward to trying caldera, any plans for an Android / Android TV app? Us with Nvidia Shield are eager for TV support!

I have to agree I’m a bit worried about plexamp future, only one person is working on it and it’s a passion project. I’m very thankful of Erin’s efforts but also dunno about the long term feasibility of this arrangement. I’m a lifetimer but the push for streaming is making me consider other options. Plexamp is the one special factor that keeps me in plexophere but for how long?

i mean i’m not moving to another app
