I’m seeing heavy battery drain in the latest beta. I pulled my phone off the charger about 5 hours ago. With very little usage between now and then (checking a few messages in hangouts and using Google Photos) my battery is down to 17% and it lists Plex as the biggest battery drain. About 20% of the battery usage. The next closest was Google Maps at 8%. Funny thing is I didn’t open Plex at all this morning on my phone… Saw similar heavy battery drain over the weekend but I didn’t investigate what apps were draining it since I was out and about (I assumed it the constant network usage not being on wifi).
What’s the version number? I have .1201 on my Nexus 6P and I don’t see any Plex activity in AccuBattery when I’m not actually using Plex.
I’m on .1201 as well on my 6P. I rebooted my phone and charged it and luckily I haven’t seen it come back up as draining my battery. The strange thing is I’m on Android O beta and usually it notifies me of apps running in the background (new feature in Android O) but I didn’t get that notification this morning. Hopefully this was just an anomaly.

Very important piece of information right there. Might be related to the beta OS you are running.
I’ve been in the Android beta program since before Nougat was official. I’ve also been in the beta O since the day they released it to the public and I haven’t see this issue yet. I’m sure at this point it’s just a fluke since it hasn’t come back but I have on many occasions seen Plex running in the background and there are times I’ve seen it get stuck trying to sync my offline/synced media. I usually reboot or have to force quit Plex after it running for several hours (even when there are no changes to my synced content). Then, it’ll run again for a short period and then all is good again. This time was different because there was no notification of it running in the background. Oh well, I’m going to keep my eye on it.
