What limit of users exists for each server?
I want to know how many managed and local users can I have?
and if I have to have plex pass?
I don’t remember the exact numbers.
From what I remember you can share with a total of close to 100 friends (don’t pin me down on the exact number). Those friends are linked to your account, not individual servers… so having more servers doesn’t give you a higher number of friends to share with.
As for “managed users” – those are only available with the Plex Home feature which is linked to a Plex Pass.
Edit: removed incorrect information about Plex Home depending on Plex Pass (see post of BigWheel below!)
managed users are not jsut linked to Plex Pass anymore but non-Plex Pass users do not get the advanced restrictions. Plex Pass will not increase the number of users you can share with or add to home.
you can have 14 total in your “home” whether you have a Plex Pass or not. That includes regular users. So you can create 9 managed users and invite 5 regular user accounts for example or just 14 managed users.
you can share with 100 total (that includes your home users) whether you have a Plex Pass or not.
it is not “per server” those are the amount your account can share with regardless if you have one server or multiple.

There’s two concepts of how to share your content.
Plex Home
This is intended for users within your actual home – limited to max. 14 users

Sharing (with Friends)
This is intended for sharing with friends who have their own Plex Account
both combined are limited to 100 max.

but sharing with friends has time restriction, only plays 1min?
Is that still the same? and you also have to have plex pass, right?
Are you using an app like iPad or android tablet? When you purchase a Pass the apps are free, otherwise there normally $4.99 US each. The one minute is a trial.
You don’t need a pass but it makes more sense. Put it this way try Pass for Month and if you like it, get a Lifetime and all your apps are free/ perk
If you share to a TV there is no 1 minute restriction. The restriction only applies to mobile devices.
I share with several of my family members and they do not have a Plex Pass. Also I think sharing is safer from a security standpoint, they only access your libraries and can not impact your server.
What I am unsure is if my Plex Pass affects the TV sharing. Just thought about that.
