Help a noob - why my new photo library not populating?

Server Version#:3.95.2

I just bought a new Synology DS918+ NAS and put all my 70,000 photos on it via a RAID 1 setup. I shared this folder and gave R/W permissions.

I then installed Plex Media Server on the NAS.

I then added a photo library and pointed it to my photo directory and let it update for the last 2 days.

When I click on photos, is says “There are no items in this library”.

When I scan library files, it briefly flashes, “Libraries are currently being updated”.

Under Settings->Alerts, it says “Library scan complete: Extra information may still be downloading from the Internet” and “Scanning the “Photos” section”.

Why isn’t the photo library populating?

Thank you for your help.

I already had given Plex user permission. I did this via:

File Station -> Selected Photo Folder -> Right Click Properties - > Permission -> Plex -> Given Admin/Read/Write Permission.

Could it be the directory structure? I have my photos stored in Photos directory and the sub folders are named by date - “2010_05_02”. Some of these dates have words after them, like “2010_05_02Sydney”.

Hmm, I just enabled permissions from a different path and it seems to be updating now. Fingers Crossed.

I too am having an issue. Photo Library disappeared. All permissions are set to read/write for Plex and all other libraries are working fine. VERY frustrating!
