Help improving HW transcoding performance

Server Version#: 1.29.0.6219
Player Version#: 8.9 (iPad Mini)
CPU: AMD FX 6300
GPU: nVidia Geforce GTX 960 (2GB)
RAM: 16GB DDR3 @ 667MHz

I just purchased this graphics card because it supports transcoding (and also H.265) but 4K streams are still an issue. I am getting HW transcoding but it stutters every 5 seconds or so on my local network. What can I upgrade to get a single 4k transcode without buffering? Higher clock speed CPU? Faster RAM?

What happens if you turn off tonemapping?

On Windows systems, Plex does not support tonemapping on Nvidia GPUs. It uses the CPU instead.

Wow! That absolutely did it. I even tried turning off HW transcoding and that setting helped my AMD CPU handle the load, although there was still some buffering. Thanks!
