[Help Needed] DoubleNAT / " Not available outside your network"

Hi!

So i decided to open this topic because i could not find much information about what plex is doing to solve this “problem”.

System Info:

CPU: i5 3330 @ 3.0 GHz
Memory 8 Gb DDR3 Dual Channel @ 1333
Primary storage: Kingston 120 Gb SSD (OS in Same SSD of Plex Server)
Windows 10 Pro Build 1803
Plex-Media-Server-1.13.1.5063-b4605f76e (Plex Pass)
Modem: Technicolor TC7300b

My ISP just migrate to IPv6 and after that i was unable to connect Plex outside my home. I got the message " Not available outside your network" I already tried to do a port foward on Technicolor router but still get the same problem. I Also tried to connect over a VPN but i was always disconnected from the service and then PMS goes “not available”.

I Also tried to do DMZ on Technicolor router and open ports on D-link DIR-878 but got same result.

I am here with some questions:

1 - The settings option “Custom server access URLs” can help to bypass the DoubleNAT? How can I set up?

2 - Is there any “beta test version” that Plex is working to fix DoubleNAT? If yes can I be one beta tester?

3- My D-link DIR 878 is compatible with dd-wrt can i use it? It helps?

So, I know a lot of people has the same problem and that´s the reason why i ask how things are going to fix this? I see in some topics that Emby does not have this problem but i am trully a Plex lover and i don´t want to change it :frowning:

Maybe if plex can create like a service that can get your IP?

Last…if you know any VPN that really works let me know!

Hope someone can help me with this!

THX,
Braz.

Plex doesn’t fully support an IPv6 system. If that is all your ISP provides, this will be a problem.

Hi @anon18523487!

Thans for the reply!

Is there any idea if this will be implemented?

THX,
Braz

It is something we would like to support in the future. No ETA on when that might happen though.

Hi @anon18523487!

THX for the info

Just an update:

My ISP also change to CGNAT so only option to remote access is VPN

I just try torguard.net

Works great

Your ISP should give you options to opt out of Double NAT/NAT/CGNAT, but they wont usually mention it unless you mention it to them. And an ISP would be silly if they did not support IPv4… try sending them a message and ask if they can either disable the NAT feature or how you can via the logins on their website.

Ok i will try!
