[HELP] No image while playing a video with PleX, only sound!

Hello everyone !

First, sorry for my english, it is not perfect, I’m from France, but I’ll try to be clear. I tried to find a solution to my problem on the french AND the english internet, but I couldn’t !

Here’s the problem : I recently installed the PleX player and the PleX server on my computer (OS : Windows 10 Pro, 21H1). For maybe 2 days, it has been working very well. But since last monday, when I try to start a movie, or any other video, only the audio works, but there is no image. The video stays black.

I already tried to :

  • Reinstall the app (player AND server)
  • Relaunch my computer several times
  • Play other types of files (mkv, avi, mp4)
  • Play H264 AND H265 codecs
  • Check all the settings
  • Read the same files on my Phone PleX app (and it works perfectly ! Image AND audio)

I’m out of ideas. If someone already met this problem, and found any solution, I could use your help !

This seems like it may be the same issue that others, including me, have been having since a recent update. Previously reported and doing some work trying to fix it but still don’t have a real fix outside of downgrading to an old version.
