Help! Plex behind CGNAT using IONOS VPS with Wireguard

Hey folks!

After spending several hours trying various things but unfortunately not being successful, I’m reaching out for your help.

I recently moved and got a new ISP (Pyur). Unfortunately, they don’t offer a public IPv4 address, so I can’t remotely access my PLEX server.

I then got PureVPN since it supports port forwarding. Now my server is accessible - so far so good.

However, the performance is abysmal. During the day, I get the full 1000/200 of my fiber optic connection, but in the evenings, the upstream drops to as low as 20-30 mbits, even with Wireguard. So, that’s not a viable solution.

So, I thought about getting a VPS and got one from IONOS for testing purposes. The required UDP port 32400 is open in the server’s firewall.

The idea: Make my PLEX server accessible via the VPS using a Wireguard tunnel.

The tunnel was successfully set up using a script (GitHub - angristan/wireguard-install: WireGuard VPN installer for Linux servers).

Traffic is now routed through the VPS, everything seems fine.

However, PLEX is not accessible from the outside. I’ve tried messing around with iptables and similar, but nothing has helped.

Is there anything that needs to be set up on the VPS side to ensure accessibility via port 32400?

Thanks for your time!
