Help setting up on external ubuntu 16.04 server

Server Version#: Newest
Player Version#:Newest

Okay. so i externally collocate multiple machines and recently i moved everything to a much new server which left me with a server just sitting in the rack with almost nothing on it. i decided ide turn it into a plex media server. that being said. i have no “local connection” since the server its self is about 6 states away.

Anyways ive gotten everything set up correctly i can connect with my-ip:32400 but. i cannot discover the server even when using shh tunneling. ive also tried whitelisting my pc’s ips in the Preferences.xml.

The OS i use its ubuntu 16.04 lts server 64bit. i do not plan on using a “gui” based os as this is still used for a small web server and some game servers.

Could anyone possibly have an idea on what i could do to get this up?

There are two “Newest”. Public and Plex Pass. In the future, please be specific. (we have many versions floating around dependent on the OS)

When you ssh tunnel to the server:

1 . ssh -L 8888:127.0.0.1:32400 ip.addr.of.host
2 with that session open; open in-cognito browser tab http://127.0.0.1:8888

This does not get you into it?

That Brought me to a xml file that has to do with plex. but im unable to do anything else.

And sorry about that didn’t know there was 2 different builds. but i using the newest Ubuntu 16.04 non plexpass

sorry, been a long day,.

Alright thanks that got everything fixed. for some reason putty just wouldn’t work so i had to use powershell to ssh and after that everything worked perfect.
