Plex Linux wont load new server

Server Version#:cent os 7
Player Version#:1.16.3.1443-359b06978

I install plexmediaserver on linux box. I tunnel ssh , i use browser to go to page localhost:8899 it loads plex web app normal asks me to login, then only sees the server on my local machine at 32400 and does nto see, load or does anything on the offsite server.

Ive set up several offsite before and this one does not do anything like before, it loads as if im on my local machine , no new setup and nothing.

Could use some help.

Thanks

Two questions:

  1. Did you log out your local Plex/Web session before accessing via SSH-tunnel
  2. Is the forwarding 8899:127.0.0.1:32400 or did you refer to localost ?

Yes, even removed server. Tried all ways. Will not see a new server. Used putty and windows server so your format wasn’t used 8899 was port used to connect to 32400.

Windows server?

If you’re using a Windows client, you need putty setup like this.

No NOT win-blows server, what part of the subject “plex linux” and listing “Cent OS” makes you think windows server.

I am well aware on how to ssh tunnel into linux with windows. I am well versed in how to setup linux and windows based plex servers. Yes this is how you setup ssh tunnel with putty. No it does not work, other ways also does not work. Linux to Linux still does not work.

There is something funky with the latest build I think as im not the only person having this issue as ive read others with the same thing.

This is why I asked.

Regardless, you’re accessing it using Putty. that’s Windows.

How about getting me the tar.gz of the Logs directory and attaching it here. I will see if it’s within PMS but I think the issue is with cached tokens in the browser / attempting to access it via Plex.tv / being on a different subnet / remote

logs.tar.gz (243.0 KB)

Aside from your network configuration looking damaged (IPv4 entries are duplicated without indication of alias), IPv6 looks ok.

At this point,

  1. via the SSH shell session
    a. Stop Plex
    b. Remove Preferences.xml
    c. Start Plex
  2. Making sure it’s logged out again and in a fresh incognito window
  3. Now again open it via the SSH tunnel to 127.0.0.1:32400/web

This should remove all sense of ownership/lockout which existed (it will lock down if not secured to protect your media)

Still a no go. Pretty confusing.
