Hi all,
I am about to install all my media (videos, music and photos) to my newly set up DS918 NAS.
However I want to get the organization of my media right from the start so just have a few questions regarding this.
I’d like to organize all my media files under a top level folder named MEDIA and then within that folder I would sub categorize further with folders such as: MOVIES, TV, MUSIC, PHOTOS.
Therefore my question is this: If I organize my media this way can I point Plex, Audio Station, Video Station and Photo Station to the relevant folders within my top level MEDIA folder. In other words can all the media servers including Plex share the same media locations without issues?
For example: can I point Plex to MEDIA > MOVIES, and also point Video Station to the same MEDIA > MOVIES folder??
I am unsure of this because I know Video Station and Audio Station create their own default folders named VIDEO and MUSIC and maybe these folders MUST be used?
Another related question I have is could I move the default folders created by Video Station and Audio Station (e.g. Cut & Paste in File Station) and put them within my top level MEDIA folder – might this work?
Any help greatly appreciated
