Help with mobile sync and transcoding

Hello,

I would like to only have to transcode once so mobile sync will just use that file. In other words, can I transcode outside of Plex, place the file into the Plex library, then when outside my network, go to mobile sync, and download that file without having to transsode again.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I assume that would depend on your setting, Plex can see a second file if its placed there, and If it matches your requested Sync, i should use it.

meaning, if your file is 1080P at 20mpbs and you want to sync 720 at 8mpbs, the ADDED file would need to be that
