ah, thats because its not generated by the dvr recording. I’m willing to bet the behavior is the same between hevc and h.264 and the markers will be generated during your maintenance window.

@vertigo235 if you manually “analyze” the files in question, are the markers generated?

If so, I’ll have to check with my co-worker on if its run as a scheduled task for non dvr items.

I think the issue may be related to it only running as a scheduled task? I’ll leave files and let them marinate overnight to see what happens.

Unfortunately no, I’m still seeing the same crashing issue with UHD HDR and HDR/DV content on Apple devices with “Old Player”.

Tested both AppleTV 4K and iPhone 13 Pro with “Old Player” and see the same crashing behavior. Have not tested AppleTV HD.
@dklein I’ll have to file an issue with the apple client at this point.
Thanks Chris, 1.41.1.9055 is the last version where “Old Player” was functional (but had the SDR color shift issue).
Did the file you were using have hdr? If not does one with hdr fail as well?
On 1.41.1.9055, UHD HDR and HDR/DV files transcoded to 1080p/720p SDR HEVC without issue and played as expected.
The main issue I had in 1.41.1.9055 is that when transcoding existing UHD/1080/720 SDR content to 1080p/720p SDR HEVC, there was a red/pink colorshift issue on the transcoded output (on Apple and Fire TV devices).

Yes, the last test I did was a UHD HDR10/DV (Profile 7) file.

Why is the old player being used with HEVC?
In all my testing, the old player is good for, at most, 20 Mbps 1080p H264.
Also, would like to ask about the “red/pink” color shift.
Is this DoVi content of some form being played ?
I just tested, using 9065, the new/normal player, DoVi content with my 2017 ATV 4K.
