Something odd is happening with the historical bandwidth usage I used about 1GB of remote streaming over 2 x 1mbps streams but it’s reporting that I’ve somehow streamed 193GB in the last hour since updating and this month is now reporting 39TB.
It seems like the 7 days and older views are affected but realtime, 12 hr and 24 hr is not affected.
I can’t post screenshots right now but in a few hours when I get home from work I can.
Yeah, same here, my server is reporting that 4TB of bandwidth was used at noon today, I can assure you that did not happen ![]()
when did this start? Just this latest build?
Yes it appears so.
It looks like it started immediately after installing the update posted today.
You guys seem to have found this before our QA did, I’m looking into it and in the meantime have temporarily pulled the build so no more databases get screwed up.
The build I just posted should prevent the issue from occurring any more, however if it has already occurred and the incorrect statistics are bothering you then you will need to restore your database from a backup.
Not sure if related to the earlier build from today or something else but something seems to have cleared a bunch or metadata from my Movies library. Haven’t changed anything other than move to todays builds.
Same issue here, my movies library is constantly rescanning. Also no changes other than updating to today’s build.
No other libraries affected, even other movie libraries. Just the default “Movies”.
Edit: Spoke too soon, other libraries are doing the same.
Scanned my TV library and its re-adding everything to “recently added” and updating meta data…
Back down to the previous build.
Be prepared to switch to your backup database and Scan Files to pickup any changes since last backup.
This is a PMS core bug (Alpha code before QA got to it) and is being fixed internally now.
“Me too” is not required.
Is anyone expiriancing the metadata issue willing to provide logs?
I could.
I had the same or similar metadata issues but it turned out to be some new behavior that I haven’t observed before. If I had files in a show that did not have good naming schema (ex: Trash Guide’s), Plex would just constantly “re-discover” it over and over. I woke this morning to the same “episodes” in a show being newly added over and over. I use episodes in quotes because a lot of it was extras that I hadn’t organized propperly.
For movies, I had one that had similar behavior of always being added over and over again and it turned out to be 3 copies of the same movie. It’s like Plex couldn’t reconcisle that it was the same movie.
This behavior is a bug in unrelated work that we are currently tracking down. I had to update this branch to 1.41.3 (currently in alpha) and we have not tracked down all the bugs yet.
No worries. Let us know if you need anything like logs so we can help.
Is there any plan to introduce lower bitrate such as 3 or 4 Mbps 1080p or 10 or 15 Mbps 4K now that we have HEVC encoding?
Also, I noticed in Task Manager that HW transcode is consuming much more GPU resources with “Make my CPU hurt” or “Prefer slower encoding” compared to “Prefer faster encoding” option. Does it have anything to do with the fact that NVENC has 7 different encoding profile which is P1 (fastest) and P7 (slowest)?
