HEVC MKV unable to direct stream with enhanced player since tvOS 17 update

I currently have a few Apple TV HDs still in circulation and I have noticed that since updating to tvOS 17.x (now running 17.2) with the latest beta 8.29 (7486) that 1080p HEVC media is unable to Direct Play without a large amount of freezing and skipping when using the Enhanced Player.

I’m not seeing this issue on my AppleTV 4K or iOS/iPad os Devices, and this is content that previously used to play fine on the Apple TV HD. It’s 1080p SDR HEVC Main 10, 24p, mkv.

If I enable the old video player, this content looks to direct stream without issue. Infuse also has no issues with the media on the same devices.

same issue here. massive frame rate issue when it tries to playback, it isnt working well at all. reverting to the old player in settings helps for some videos but not all.
