Hide Multiple Version Numbers

Hi there!

Long time Plex user, but new poster, so apologies if this isn’t quite in the right area.

Basically, I have been starting to utilize multiple versions of movies I have (4k and 1080p verisons), as indicated here in the documentation: https://support.plex.tv/articles/200381043-multi-version-movies/

However, I find that it also introduces the issue of the Multiple Versions of File icon in the upper right as described here: https://forums.plex.tv/t/hide-version-numbers-on-web-player/138515/3

Has there been any update to this feature, as it is quite annoying to see when there are multiple versions of one movie but the posters I have entered in show that icon.

If this has already been addressed, I would love to be pointed in the right direction, particularly if the solution works on platforms other than web and using CSS modification, as I have a fair few users in my household that use Plex on smart TVs and CSS won’t solve it on them.

Thanks!

Up-voted but doesn’t look like there’s much interest and a shame nobody else has responded to this. I agree that the icon is annoying for most users just interested in viewing the content, and it would be great to be able to enable/disable it.

I would also appreciate the ability to disable to multiple-version-number on the posters. Any updates on this?

No update that I was ever made aware of. I unfortunately ended up just splitting out my 4k content into a different library. Ultimately, that helps management quite a bit, but still would have been nice to use this without needing them separated.

Early 2021 clean-up: implemented (Plex is no longer displaying the # of versions indicator on posters in Plex Web)
