For those of us with multiple local PMS in our homes, being able to hide the unwanted servers (that are broadcast on the local network) in our clients would free up the menu system.
For example, my gf and I each have servers on our computers. I take my computer to work everyday, but she leaves hers at home so we can play videos from it. However, when I am at home, I don’t want to see her server in my client (only through shared content via myPlex but not locally) as it adds clutter to the menu system. It’s especially annoying on my iPhone, but not much better on the desktop client.
For people on, say, university networks where perhaps multiple servers are visible, not having to sort through other people’s servers would be nice.
I realize that this may not be a big issue for many people. But I would think it would be one that’s simple to implement - at least by providing an option to only show the server on your own computer and none of the ones broadcast on the local network. For example, I imagine a toggle in the preference menu can turn off local server discovery. For, say, the iPhone, one can choose (as an optional toggle) to only show servers that are associated with the myPlex account.
This would not eliminate access to shared content (and the client could try to intelligently play media locally if a shared server happens to be available locally), but could free up the menu system a bit for those of us with multiple servers in our household.
You aren't alone.

Early 2021 clean-up: implemented (clients can pin/unpin libraries from servers)
