I’ve got an low power NAS that lacks the CPU strength to encode H.264 video in realtime. This means that PGS subtitles are effectively useless to me on players like my Xbox One, since they need to be burned in by a software encoder in order to render on the client.
It’d be great if Plex would simply hide these subtitles if it knows the server isn’t fast enough to burn them into the stream in realtime and simply show me options like SRT that my server/player can handle.
