Due to fallback to the software renderer for 4k content, and the excessively high CPU load of HDR to SDR tone mapping combined with just transcoding 4k period, when a client requires burned subtitles I would just prefer plex not attempt it at all. If the playback could fail with a friendly message that would be ideal. Right now if someone kicks off a 4k video with PGS subtitles it just hammers the CPU and brings the server to its knees. Neither I nor the person attempting the playback is satisfied.
