I would like a feature where I could send a message out to to one or more clients watching the plex. Examples would be, “Dinner Time! Get off the TV!”
“Turn down the volume, dumbass!”
“We are leaving, come downstairs!”
This would send an on-screen message or popup a dialog box to force the user to interact and presumably read the message.
You could also expand this to include timers and scheduled events, such as from Google and other services. It would be pretty useful in the big picture of things and in the scope of the coming push to smart home technology.

Not ONLY is it good for planned outages, but ALSO for content updates.
The existing request link you provided no longer exists. Is there a new primary thread for it? What happened to the old thread and the votes for it?
The thread is still there, but when they changed the forum software a couple years ago, the links got broken. Just go to the Feature Suggestions forum and sort by Votes. It’s one of the top 10 or 15 items.
