Home Screen Assistance

Currently, I have Continue Watching (which also adds in the next episode of a show (Even though I don’t want it to), Recently Added Movies (all 6 movie libraries are set to merge into this one), Recently Added TV (same for the tv libraries)

My question that I have or help that I need is ::

If I mess with the manage libraries feature where you can add in recently released, or by genre, etc it does it per library. Is there no way to have these all merged as well?

If I try to add a collection (of say new movies), it will do it for each library as well on the home screen, when the purpose is to just show brand new movies in one row on the main screen.

I have a feeling that this is not possible and what I am getting out of this whole home screen customization is that it is an absolute nightmare because I do not want 3000 rows, 30 for each library. It makes me feel like the only way to do this properly is to have one library for TV and one library for Movies which is horrible.

Any help or is this a known limitation with Plex?

You cannot currently do that. I guess your use case with 30 libraries isn’t the most common one.

Yeah I guess I just find it odd that Plex wants you to create 1 single library for TV, then use collections to divide. The biggest issue I see is that you cannot sub-divide.

IE, if I have TV Shows as a Library, and then have a Collection for Anime inside of that, and then want to have a collection of all Mobile Suit Gundam, that’s impossible. I’d have to separate them totally as their own collection.

Well… that makes it 2 TV-Show libraries (“regular series” vs. “anime”). Most other cases can easily be handled w/ filters etc.
