Custom Recently Added for TV library: filter help

I’m trying to see if I can find a way to break out the built in “Recently Added” for TV libraries into two custom filters via Smart Collection for dedicated home rows\hubs but I think it’s not possible… but wanted to ask before giving up on it.

Essentially I’d like to turn the current Recently Added into two separate rows so I can have one for live action and one for anime\animation.

The stumbling block, I think, is that the built in one is programmatically built because it’ll include both episodes and seasons while user facing filters can only do one or the other. So, if I add more than a single episode at the same time, the built in one will group them together and if I add a single episode it’ll just show that one episode but if I try to build that same function using the episodes option, if I add 3 seasons of a show then it’ll create a string of 75 episodes instead of showing just the 3 seasons themselves and if I try to build it with seasons it doesn’t show individual episodes being added. I don’t think I can replicate the Recently Added for TV libraries because that mix\match of episodes\seasons\shows is not available via filters.

I recently combined a dedicated Anime TV library with my broader TV library and found I miss having those separated out a bit for the recently added row on the home screen so was debating if I have to go back to a dedicated library to achieve this split, but thought I’d ask first in case I’m missing something.

Or if maybe something in the upcoming new admin tools will help, then I can live with it for now rather than going through a library merge\split again.

Any suggestions or confirmation is appreciated!

Can’t think of any way to do this. Using separately libraries is the only option.

Yeah… I’m thinking I’ll reverse my library merge. My fansubs is kinda “polluting” the recently added a bit much since I’m not usually current with fansubs like I often am with other shows.

I’m all for keeping the number of libraries to a minimum but without having a bit more control with this function I don’t think it’ll work for me; which is a preference thing, not a functionality issue with Plex really. Maybe the new admin tools will have something.
