I have a Fire Stick and a Fire TV Box.
On both of these 9 times out of 10 when I go to the home screen I get the Personalize Your Home Screen message.
The only option is to Reset Customisations.
If I exit the app, then force close it and relaunch the home screen will reappear and be ok, but the issue will usually reoccur after watching the next program.
Is there a cure for this behaviour or is anyone having the issue?
This happens to me quite often on my fire stick and all my other android based devices as well. Not 9 out of 10 for me. But at least once a week on each device. I found it quite annoying because it does take a while on a non-touch device to custom everything the same way again. Then I realized that you could ignore the message and not do the customization. Think I just press the back button or something like that. The Android app always have a good handful of problems at any given time.
When I press the back button I can get to the sidebar menu and select from a library but the home screen is not available.
If you have a way of ignoring the customisation and regaining the home screen without customizing I’d love to know!
When it happens to me again, I will try to remember to let you know what I did. I know it wasn’t complicated.
Happened again on my Fire TV stick tonight. I just pressed the down arrow to go to the next item on the side menu and then up again to go back to home. Made the message go away and Home was back to normal. Who knows, maybe that will work for you.
I don’t think this is limited to Fire devices, because I am having the exact same problem on two different Apple TVs with the tvOS Plex app as well. It is extremely frustrating to have to set this up repeatedly, almost every other day.
Thanks, I’ve tried that a few times but it doesn’t fix it for me.
I’ve been able to minimise it happening by waiting for a minute or so after watching something before going to the home screen, but that’s a pita!
I’ve been checking other sites and it seems to be common issue with no resolutions so far.
