I’m trying to figure out if I would benefit from adding people as a home user. What is the benefits compared to just using a regular Plex account? Thanks.

this one provides a practical example

keep in mind there are TWO kinds of home users (well 3)

  • the admin (owner account of server)
  • managed users (for devices inside your physical home, these use YOUR admin account credentials but are subprofiles like netflix etc).
  • unmanaged home users (these are users with their own plex account that are invited to your home)
