I am able to create home users without plex pass, security breach?

I am able to create different home users or is there a difference between managed users and home users?

If there is a difference, what are the differences, and do I need a pass for each user? Or only for the admin user, which is managing the server?

You do not need a Plex Pass or each user or for yourself if you don’t want one. A basic version of Plex home has been available for folks for a while now. it is mostly so parents can make accounts for their kids and have some basic restrictions for the streaming on demand content. Many folks don’t have a server at all and only use the streaming content.

Non-Plex Pass admins can use basic restriction profiles ( Young kid, teen) where Plex Pass users have more fine grained control with specific content rating restrictions (PG, R etc) and custom labels

“Home users” refers to any account in the home. including the home admin account. it is not s special type of account outside of that. All home users will show up in the fast user switcher

Managed users can only exists in a home and other accounts can’t share with them. Meaning I could not share my server library with your managed users.

Regular accounts can also be invited to someones home. Say Uncle Bob lives in the basement and has a regular Plex account with an email and password of his own. Only Plex Pass users can invite regular accounts into their Home.

If the home admin has a Plex Pass the home users can all use our Mobile apps at no cost.
