I have videos I create for my kids, and I like to do cover art for those videos. My standard template size has the orientation of a movie poster (typically 27 x 41) so it’s taller than wider (portrait mode). When I add a “home videos” library to Plex, the default thumbnails (in the search page) are landscape mode (not like TV shows or movies). I could layout the thumbnails in that orientation, but then when you click on the actual video and go to the page just for that video, it displays the portrait “poster” I’ve created properly. Problem is, in all other views, it’s cropped and presented in landscape. I would even be willing to provide two separate art to the system, but it doesn’t seem to allow that. The “background” is landscape, and when I serve that a custom image, it doesn’t make that the thumbnail in those times where it is automatically pulling a landscape image.
Is there a way to make the “home videos” library that I’ve created default to a movie poster style layout? Thanks in advance.
