Home Videos Upside Down

All of my home videos when played through PLEX are upside down.
Is there a simple fix for this.

Stand on your head while watching them?

I would say that there is probably some simple field in the files that mark the top or bottom or set the orientation but I do not know that field. I do know that there are many many tools avail to manipulate the various parameters of videos. You should look to fix your issue at the file level rather than looking to Plex to do it for you.

The problem with making a change at the file level is I have over 200 home videos and over 6400 pictures that are effected.

Any viewer or program used besides PLEX, displays in the proper orientation.

Can you make a very short snippet of a video which reproduces this issue?
The same with a still image.
Then upload them to e.g. GDrive and send me a download link please.
I will forward it and file a bug report.

In my experience video taken with an iPhone for instance may look like it has the correct orientation when viewed on the phone or some players but other players can’t seem to figure out the correct orientation. I run all my home video taken on my iPhone through a third party editor editor to make sure it has the correct orientation. If it doesn’t I flip it and save as a new file.
I am not sure if that is the same issue with none iPhone acquired video and I know this doesn’t make you feel warm and fuzzy because you have some many files but just wanted to saw that I have experience a similar issue.
I don’t have the name of my third party editor but I could get it for you if you wanted.

The following is a link to a video played on computer and the same video played through PLEX on a Samsung Smart TV.

The video is of the correct orientation on all other devices.
All home vides are the same. When played through PLEX, they are upside down.

I’m sorry, this is not what I meant.
I’d like to have one these files which exhibit the issue when played with Plex.
Not a recording of a Plex client misbehaving.

My mistake. Useing an on line editor, I made a snippet of the same video. When I play it through PLEX it is the correct orientation. Below is the link to the Snippet.

Looks like the Snippet is an MP4 file type instead ov the original MOV

Doesn’t that mean it is not usable to recreate the issue in Plex?

If you have access to the camera, could you simply record a few seconds of video? Use a subject where it’s easy to see the correct orientation.

I am currently transferring all media files from the computer hard drive to a Synology NAS. After complete will test again and also shoot new movie and get back to you.

Thanks for the help so far.

Im having this same issue on the latest plex server for Mac OSX.
