How can I now view what the server is doing at the current time (matching etc.)

You used to be able to see what the software is doing and when (e.g. matching a folder of files) by going to Activity.

This was removed from that location a year or so ago.

How can I view this information. It used to autoscroll.

EDIT: Got it - it’s moved to Alerts

When you click on the Activity icon, it should drop down a menu with one item named “Dashboard.” That’s where you find greatly-expanded activity information.

There’s a very confusing and mysterious fly-by of current events at:
“Console”.

It makes my brain hurt so I quit going there…lol

That’s how it looks like with one device playing audio,
another playing live tv
and the server doing a library scan in the music library.

Mine is also ‘Generating Video Preview Thumbs’ at that time, but yea… that list can get rather ‘chatty’ with info, albeit rather basic - and ‘Console’ is ‘Verbose’ Headache Medicine.

Sorry, I meant clicking on Activity used to tell you which content it was currently downloading metadata for.

Was useful when I added a library of a thousand videos - you could see its progress by looking at the first letter of the title it was currently downloading metadata for.

That only shows ‘Now playing’ on my end.

Not what metadata is currently being downloaded etc.

For example, there is an orange circle animation around Activity but I have no idea what it’s doing. Clicking it only shows Dashboard and Dashboard only shows Now Playing.

EDIT: Got it - it’s moved to Alerts

Ah, okay. I have never paid much attention to that page. Glad you found what you were after.
