Does anyone know how I can stream from Plexamp on a Mac to a Raspberry Pi, without losing things like gapless playback and Sweet Fades? Trying Rasplex, I can stream but I cannot use these features, which kind of defeats the point of owning a Plex Pass. It is very inconvenient to have to move my MacBook from my desk to my Hi-fi setup where my DAC is whenever I want to listen to music.
There’s this Plexamp for Raspberry Pi Release Notes
Or you find a way to chromecast / airplay to the Pi.
The problem with AirPlay though is that the max resolution is 44.1/16, and most of my library is in Hi-res, so I would lose all that quality.
There is currently no way to stream HD audio to a raspi using Plexamp.
The RasPi version of Plexamp is also just using the default sample rate of the interface. Everything is downsampled to that rate.
Just to add, the rate is fixed at 44.1Khz on the raspberry pi. I’m hoping that they will upgrade plexamp on the raspberry pi.
Here is the guide to installing headless PlexAmp on a Raspberry pi: PlexAmp-installer for Raspberry Pi with armv7l HW
With this setup, you can stream to the raspberry pi from any plexamp client.
