How can you "select all" in Plex?

If I wanted to update all the items in a given library there is a feature where you can select the items you want to update then click the edit button and it will updated the selected titles with your changes.

But what if you want to update ALL titles in a library with a specific update? Is there a way to “select all” within a library? I can’t find a way to do it, but I noticed that if I select one or more titles in a library I do get an option to “de-select” all items. Seems odd you couldn’t do it the other way around…or am I missing it?

Thanks for the help!

There’s no ‘select all’ button, but you can select everything by selecting the first item, then scrolling to the bottom of the library, and Shift+click the last item. This selects everything in between. This is very much like Windows File Manager.

There is a caveat to this: after selecting the first, you have to scroll to the end slowly enough so that Plex will load all the tiles, then Shift+click the last item. This problem is reported here.

That worked for this library with 65 items, thanks! “control-A” should work though…

This will certainly be clumsier with a library with 1500 items in it as I have! Still better than manually clicking each one though!

Thanks again!

I agree that would be nice, but I’m not sure web browsers allow that for things other than text.

A ‘select all’ button that forces it to load all elements would be another way.

I’m using the Plex desktop app. I know there is a browser of some sort embedded in that, but still, it’s the dedicated app.

What are you trying to update? There is a “Refresh all metadata” and “Analyze” option for the entire library. These are the 2 you normally use to update your content.
