The page that sold me on the features was very flashy, but how do I add the features or are they even available? Where’s the “plex pass perks” I figured there would be a link but there isn’t that I can see.
The video showed someone selecting music mix from the three dots. It’s not there on my music.
How do I turn on sonic fingerprinting because there’s not much detail to my music.
How do I turn on the mood music? Again, there is no selection for that.
Where’s the link for the plex perks I hear about?
For the Plex pass features, you need to have your Plex Server signed into the plex.tv account for which you have bought the Plex Pass.
Make sure your server device has internet access and then reboot/restart it.
Wait a few minutes afterwards.
I only have the one Plex account with it asking for my pin once I signed up and started sharing and I only have one plex server (my shield TV). I’ve restarted the device many times since signing up for plex pass 11 days ago.
The features that appear to be missing from your link are all the music-related items except the lyrics. I currently don’t have the equipment I need to do the DVR service and verify if that works.
I wish they would actually have step-by-step instructions on how to get them working. When I select the three dots, I don’t see the Mix or Mood selections. Based on the lack of information or graphics around my music, I’m positive the fingerprinting isn’t operational.
Do I just need to spend more money and get a PC for a PMS? Is there any place that lists what explicitly works and doesn’t work with each device? I haven’t found anything really regarding the Shield TV.
Most of the premium music features are only available if you create a new music library. You will get asked whether you want a ‘normal’ or a ‘Premium’ music library.
Thanks Otto. One thing they don’t have in the documentation - or lack of - is that there is no way to upgrade existing libraries I guess. I’ve deleted my music library and am going through the long process of rebuilding it.
So far, one album showing up and the album art is present. There isn’t any detailed artist information yet and the lyrics are missing, but with the Shield TV, I won’t be surprised if it takes days to get that to show up. It was really slow to get thumbnails and to actually show TV Shows when I first set it up. I’m still considering picking up a cheap PC to use as a PMS box (serving only me and max one other).
