I know how to back up the data base in Windows, but my Terramaster NAS is a linux system I think and I’ve no idea where the database is stored or how to get it and back up/restore. My NAS seems to drop the connection to plex often and so I’n regularly rescanning the whole NAS to rebuild the database and it’s a massive pain making the hundreds of tweaks to the database everytime. Any help would be most welcome.

I do not know how to find any of those files. Where do I look, on my PC? I have no earthy idea where to find the file system on my NAS.
Do you have your Plex Server running on your Windows computer?
Yes I do have plex running on my windows pc
Where to look on your Windows PC is explained exactly in those FAQ articles.
You don’t have your Plex Server running on your NAS, it’s just where you have your media stored. Your database is on your Windows computer.
But they are different databases and I installed plex on my terramaster NAS. I only installed plex on my PC a few days ago, prior to that I was using the plex app that terramaster supply in the TOS operating system.
When you replied “Where do I look, on my PC?” and then I asked if you have your Plex Server running on your Windows PC and you said yes, I assumed you only use your NAS for file storage.
If you aren’t familiar with how to access your NAS directly I suggest you go to their support site and find instructions on how to access the OS directly. You need to have a good understanding on how your NAS works before you can maintain Plex on it. You can wait around for someone to hopefully explain how to get to those directories, but I recommend you read up on how things work while you wait for a reply here.
Have you got it figured out yet? One way to find your Plex Server data directory is to open the NAS from your TNASPC app in windows. Open the File Manager and go up 2 directories (use the up-arrow button on the top bar), navigate through plex-home-Library-Application Support and you’ll see the Plex Media Server directory. If you have an external drive attached you can zip up the directory and copy it there (all done in File Manager). Hope this helps.
