I’ve created a user account for my kids and assigned it PG and below. But this show is showing up in that account and has content that is PG-13+. I can’t seem to change the content rating - how do I do this?
And it would be great if I could change the content rating at the show and/or season level rather than having to select all of the episodes individually…
Tagging movies and shows for content ratings:
Sorry if this is slightly off-topic, but I wasn’t sure where to post it.
For years I have been trying to have Plex Server pick up the Content Rating from a tag in my MP4.
I’ve just had a break-through that I wish to share, because I can see looking back that others have similarly struggled (their threads now closed):
Plex Server will pick up Content Rating from a metadata tag on an MP4 file, but:
1 The tag name is case sensitive. The tag field must be iTunEXTC. ITUNEXTC won’t work.
2 The content rating must be enclosed in pipes (the vertical line character), and prefaced by “mpaa”.
Example: iTunEXTC = mpaa|PG-13| will return a metadata value of PG-13 once the tagged file is saved and the metadata is refreshed (by rightclick on file icon).
It is not essential that the tag ITUNESMEDIATYPE be present or set to “Movie”.
