How do I get Plex to match up my folders to TheTVDB

Windows 10

Plex only recognises a small fraction of my folders for TV Shows view…
Eg:
\Sitcoms
\Only Fools and Horses (1981) {tvdb-75628}
\Season 01
\Season 02
etc,
If I set the display to TV Shows it is not listed.
If I switch to Folders then it is there, the episodes have the correct names, everything works…

Probably because you have genre subfolders.

How are these paths added to the library?

My folder structure existed. I was using serviio to stream to a home theatre via ethernet.
The ethernet port failed so I had to switch to wifi. And a media server that handles it.

I just created libraries based on the root folders: Sitcoms 1 and Sitcoms 2.

I originally had just a single folder per show, and I painstakingly went through the whole process of creating season sub-folders.

Plex does get the show right with the episodes, just not the show name for display mode TV Shows.

This is important because the shows were ripped from my DVD collections, and need to be optimised. Doing 120 episodes of a show one-by-one is a bit of a schlepp - must easier to select the show and optimise it.

All my folders are General Items.

[Update]
I have discovered that if I alter the show name, scan, rename correctly and scan, the shows are found. Some reluctance of Plex to do existing folders.

I am working with that page permanently open. :grinning:

Hence my addition of Year and TVDB ID.
