How do i connect my plex server to my tv and roku box? So I use the roku player to use my vodeo files off the server (3 my books , 1 my passport and 1 external ssd!) Wirelessly! So it can viewed on the tv.
I have an old hp desktop with 1 ethernet port, wireless router and my roku ultra box with one ethernet which is hooked to the tv by hdmi.
Now my question is this:
I need to have the internet to the Roku box.
Do i hook the computer between the roku and the router?
Or into the router and not the roku?
Now how do i get the roku app to see my plex server? I put the ip addy on the roku app , hooked in the way you said . Logged in to roku app and server and i cant see the drives on roku app!
The Roku does not need to be connected to the server at all. No cables or special card required from the computer to the Roku.
Install the Plex app, (the Roku can be on your local wireless wi-fi) and follow the instructions for linking the accounts. Have your computer’s browser or your phone’s browser ready to link the account., and chances are pretty good the Plex app will be up and running in no time.
How do i know if im linked? Also will the folders on the left hand side of the screen in server be avaible on the roku media player? How do i play them in roku media player?
If you see a Roku account under “Single Sign-On Authentications” in here https://plex.tv/users/other-services
you’ll know that your Roku account has been linked to your plex account.
