How do I just set up 2 computers as independent servers?

Server Version#: Couldn’t find?
Player Version#: Version 1.15.4.993

I used to have this working just fine a couple years ago but for some reason now I can’t figure it out for the life of me.

Have 2 Mac Minis in the house, my wife’s and mine. We have a single Plex account. Her machine has all her shows and movies on it, mine has all mine. Simple enough.

Her machine appears in Plex, but when I run PMS on my machine, all I see is her server. I can’t find any way, any setting, anywhere, for just adding another server. Why is this so difficult?

I found piles of posts around here asking the same question, but none seemed to have a simple straight-forward answer for how you designate a second server under the one account. What am I missing here?

When you’re in Settings, just below the Web Client setting, you don’t see this drop down menu? SInce you both use the same Plex account, both servers are going to be in the same interface. I only have one server which is why you don’t see two options in my screenshot. You should be able to toggle between your two servers.

you should go directly to your missing server ip address and make sure that the server is logged into the same account.

ie something like (http://192.168.168.2:32400/manage/)

Yes I do see that drop-down, but there is only her server in it, not mine. My server seems like it’s ceased to exist, however it does appear under Authorized Devices so Plex remembers it, I just can’t actually access it anywhere.

Thanks, they are both definitely logged into the same account. There is only one account between us, I created it years ago and she doesn’t even know how it all works or how to access that. Both computers are logged into my Plex account, and both show the exact same everything.

So frustrating because this used to work fine and was so easy. You just did exactly what this article shows, but they’ve apparently changed the UI and these options no longer exist.

So does nobody have any insight into how to do this? Am I right that Plex removed this feature (or at least the easy way it used to be used) from current versions of the software? Is this now only for paid subscribers or something?

Hah!! Fixed it!! I copied the version of PMS that was on her computer, deleted the one on my computer, and replaced it with the copy from hers. As soon as I did that and signed in, Plex once again sees my server. So it was in fact there all along. I really don’t understand why this worked but, it did so I’m happy!
