OK. I must be missing something here. I’ve got a bunch of home videos that are all categorized in folders. How do I play all the videos in a given folder. Right now I can only play them one at a time. There’s got to be a way right? For example, in the image I provided, how would I play all the files in any of the folders depicted consecutively? Is the ONLY way to add them all to a playlist?
When you have the view in ‘By Folder’ mode, there’s no way. If you switch the view to ‘All,’ you can multi-select the items you want, then hit Play or Shuffle.
Ok it Nov 2018, has plex worked out how to play everything in video folder without having to rename or select “All” and choosing…MY LIBRARY IS ORGANIZE ALREADY BY FOLDER I LIKE IT THAT WAY…I AM STUCK WITH PLEX…IT NEEDS TO DO WHAT I WANT…NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND…and yes I’m shouting…every other media server in the world can do this …one of the reasons I have never stuck with PLex is this reason…I have tried several times but always its the same limited rigid organization methods that cause me to look elswhere…ARE YOU GUYS LISTENING…ITS CODE JUST DO IT…also so not only do I not get what I want but you guys want me to pay for it
No be cause plex is not designed to be a file browser.
ofc Plex is not a file browser, but i ha a bunch of vids … like training/learning “videos” (, or pictures).
When i add that videos in a folder and them named in the right order.
Plex is try to find metadata on custom videos. Why u cant place a play button for a folder like on tv series.
Ex.: ive been in France and made some vids on my holiday. I want to show it my friends, but i must click on it one by one to play it.
Can u explain what the purpose of vids if i cant organize them in my way?
On plex Android tv app i cant select multiple video to play, so thats not the right way to do it.
pls dont missunderstand me i realy like the videos function. just there has to be a better way to use play and enjoy it.
Yup, I was looking for it to as it’s how I used to play literally every single video collection I have. Guess they removed it for some unknown reason.
You could play videos from a folder now in the latest version of Plex on Roku… kind’o. You really need to work hard to figure this out. It’s an awful design - you can’t have more than one folder level. You have to add a new library for each sub-folder in order to make this work. If you had a “top” folder “Rock”, with sub-folders “Hard Rock”, and “Heavy Metal”, and if you added the “Rock” folder only, you wouldn’t be able to play the videos from a specific sub-folder. You could just play all or add each one separately, which is insane. Do you really want to see ALL of your subfolders on Deck? Because Plex developers don’t listen to users’ requests, and they don’t really care, each new version of Plex seems to be worse than the previous one. I struggle after every upgrade. No wonder people still want to switch to Plex Classic… I am very disappointed.

Would love to see this implemented. Can’t be that hard to add some kind of play all to the folder view just like the play functionality in the tv or movie sections. Just auto play the next video in the folder. Looking for this in the Plex channel for Roku personally.
