How do I play Full SBS 3D properly

Server Version#: 1.20.1.3252
Player Version#: Apple TV 7.6, but earlier as well, including 3rd party and LG TV

I have a bunch of 3D movies in half SBS that all play just fine on my 4K 3D TV. I just added a full SBS movie so as I lose no resolution. However, the image is squashed vertical when I put it in 3D mode. When in 2 D mode, I see the full correct aspect ratio on the left and right (although not full height as it should be. When I switch the TV into 3D mode, the left and right overlay but now the image is stretched horizontally to the full 4K so it is squished vertically. How do I make the height double so as I can properly see the image? Is there a way to reencode it? Is there a way I can double the vertical resolution on the image so as it looks correct?

I’ve resolved this issue with much experimentation. If anyone has this issue and wants help, reach out…

I’m dealing with the same issue.
How did you fix it?

Problem: 3D works great on the TiVo PLEX app but fails on Apple TV (which is too bad because Apple TV delivers a better image overall…)
My setup: Powerful PC-based server, I’m the only stream playing and I’m in the same house. EVERYTHING is wired Ethernet 1G. Projector - Benq TK850. TiVo Mini, Apple TV 4K 32GB. Nakamichi Shockwafe Ultra 9.2 SSE soundbar with 2 subs/4 satellites.
Connection scheme: TiVo is wired directly to the Benq HDMI 1. Sound is through the OPT port on the Nakamichi directly from the TiVo. Apple TV is wired via HDMI to the Nak on HDMI2 which is wired to the Benq on HDMI2.
Playing 1080p MKVs. None work; I set the projector to read 3D either Auto or SBS which they all are. After trying mightily to sync the 3D signal, the Benq reverts to Off and I’m looking at side-by-side images. I do the same thing with the TiVo app and it works more or less perfectly.
I have one more HDMI port available on my Nakamichi soundbar and would be open to trying an Nvidia Shield if it might provide these files to my theater setup more transparently than the Apple TV.

I used MKVToolNIX to edit the MKV file’s headers. You will find all sorts of information in there, for dimensions of the video track and dimension of the display area. If you are doing Full SBS then the width of the video track is 3840, but the display width is 1920. Not all the dimension fields are always filled, and sometimes they may be off. I compared side by side some files that worked with others that did not, and there may be situations where a field may not exist and it will ask you if you want to add it (a screen width field for example). Good luck! It was not exactly the same issue everywhere so YMMV. Sorry everyone I was MIA didn’t mean to leave answer hanging wrote it elsewhere and just noticed now I missed putting it here…

I deserve that. Sorry everyone…
I wrote a little bit below about how I resolved it.
